Podee Hands free bottle FAQ
FAQ's
Does it have the British
Standard Approval?
Yes, it conforms to BS 7368 : 1990
Can I Sterilize the Bottles?
The Bottles can be sterilized whichever
way you like, but the tubing can only be cold water sterilized and must
not be put in a steam or microwave sterilizer.
Does the system fit onto
other bottles?
The system fits most standard bottles
(not wide necked bottles).
My baby can't suck up properly
- what's the problem?
When the milk or formula does not
flow through the tubing when the baby sucks, it is usually because the
teat/capring/adapter assembly is not put together properly. If this is
the case, the air will come in between the teat and adapter preventing
the system from working properly. To avoid this problem, make sure the
adapter is screwed all the way in to seal the bottom of teat.
Does it mean that I won't
bond with my baby?
We fully agree with the scientific
fact that holding, cuddling and making eye contact with infants and babies
during feeding is a vital component of a baby’s growth process.
That is why the Podee Hands-Free Baby Feeding System was invented - precisely
to make it possible for mothers and/or fathers primarily of twins, triplets
and other multiples to be able to hold their babies whilst simultaneously
feeding
Podee Inc’s preamble to their
product contains the following lines: "Nursing and feeding your baby
in the comfort and warmth of your arms is the most tender, affectionate,
loving moment you can ever experience. You should hold your baby whenever
possible. However, there are times when it would be great to have your
hands free for other tasks. The Podee Hands-Free Feeding System gives
you that freedom. Once you’ve used the Podee Hands-Free Baby Feeding
System, you will wonder how any mother ever lived without it."
We are not promoting this product
as a replacement for the healthier method of mothers breast-feeding their
infants and babies. And while bottle feeding is a fact of life for most
people, we are nevertheless not promoting this product for the sake of
it, but as some sort of aid in situations where its use is most practical
or most useful. Would you rather see a mother feeding twins or other multiples
one at a time while the the others cry in hunger while waiting for their
turn? Wouldn’t it be better for the babies to be feeding all at
the same time using the Podee Hands-Free Baby Feeding System and still
be cuddled in mum’s and dad’s arms while feeding? Certainly,
the babies would want to be fed instantly, and what better way to effect
this with multiples.
We believe that nothing else will
replace the value and bonding that naturally breast-feeding brings. However,
in this modern society, there are mothers who are deprived and cannot
practice this luxury. We hope that our attempt to be of help to these
harried mums will not be construed in a negative way, and just so you
know, the system was invented by a harried father who wanted to find a
better solution to feeding his babies in an environment where breast feeding
by the mum was deemed impracticable.
